Stratford-upon-Avon 2023
The World Meeting will take place in the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon the birth place of William Shakespeare. The World Meeting will take place from Thursday 11 May to Sunday 14 May 2023 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel only a 5 min walk from the town centre.
We are looking forward to welcoming guests from near and far to England for what will be a fabulous weekend of fun and fellowship and, of course, on the business side of things the AGMs and Forum.
As Shakespeare once said “Small cheer and great welcome makes a merry feast” and you will certainly receive a great welcome when you arrive!

The Programme
Thursday 11 May
The Welcome Party and buffet will occur in the grounds of the hotel beside the River Avon (weather permitting) or indoors in the bar area.
Delegates will be treated to an amusing encounter with Henry VIII who will entertain guests with the history of his many wives.
Friday 12 May
Workshops will be run during the day and guests will be able to explore Stratford at their leisure or take the “hop on hop off bus” around the town.
"Nations Night" will occur at the British Motor Museum, and transport is provided.
The Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of historic British Cars; it boasts over 400 cars in its collection which span the classic, vintage and veteran eras. Delegates will be given exclusive access to wander around the museum before the evening’s “motor themed” entertainment begins.
Saturday 13 May
The 41 INTERNATIONAL AGM, the Tangent Club International AGM and Agora Club International's Forum will all take place in the hotel’s conference centre.
Lunch is provided for all guests staying at the hotel irrespective as to whether they are a delegate or not.
The Gala Dinner will take place in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom and should one of the highlights of the weekend where guests will be treated to a drinks reception, sumptuous meal and will be entertained by Zoots, a top class band.
Sunday 14 May
Departure day with final farewells
Pre-Tour
This 3-day Pre-Tour departs and returns to the conference hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon and any guest who wishes to book on to the Pre-Tour should ensure that they arrive at their hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon by Monday 8th May.
Each trip returns to Stratford-upon-Avon, so a hotel booking should be made for the duration of the tour. The Pre-Tour is planned to include the following visits:
Windsor and Windsor Castle, a residence of the British Royal Family.
Built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, the castle was extensively remodelled by subsequent monarchs. The public tour will take in the State Apartments, which contain opulent furnishings, and paintings from the Royal Art Collection.
A day exploring the beautiful Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its rolling hills and grassland, filled with medieval villages, churches and stately homes built of distinctive local yellow limestone.
Blenheim Palace which is a World Heritage Site with over 300 years of History. Blenheim Palace is the home to the Duke of Marlborough and the only non-royal, non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of Palace.

By Bus
From London
The bus is a good alternative to the train if you are looking for the cheapest way of getting to Stratford-upon-Avon from London. All bus services to Stratford-upon-Avon depart from London Victoria Coach Station on the National Express service. The journey lasts around 3 hours but is considerably cheaper than the train.
By Train
From London
Trains run from London Marylebone Station to Stratford-upon-Avon. There are a few direct trains throughout the day, but most trains involve an easy change either at Leamington Spa, Dorridge or Birmingham Moor Street. The journey takes between 2 to 2hr30m.
London Marylebone Station in easily accessible from pretty much any location in central London. It's connected to the London Underground via the Bakerloo Line but its also worth noting that Baker Street Station is a 10 minute walk from London Marylebone Station, and Baker Street Station has 5 Underground Lines: Jubilee, Bakerloo, Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City, Circle. There are also many buses that go to London Marylebone Station
By Plane
The nearest International airport is Birmingham International Airport (BHX).
- Walk to Birmingham International railway station which adjoins Birmingham International Airport.
- Take a train to Birmingham New Street.
- Exit Birmingham New Street and walk 400 meters (10-mins) across to Birmingham Moor Street.
- From Birmingham Moor Street there is a twice hourly train to Stratford-upon-Avon.
- The Crowne Plaza Hotel is approx 1 mile (1.5km) 17-20 minute walk from the station.
Alternatively, you can take a bus from Birmingham International Airport (BHX) to Stratford-upon-Avon via Solihull Station Interchange in around 2h 18m
However, the conference team will be running transport (for a fee) to and from Birmingham International Airport and the conference hotel.

The conference hotel and venue for 41 INTERNATIONAL, Tangent Club International and Agora Club International will be the Crowne Plaza Hotel, which is set amid landscaped gardens beside the River Avon and just a short walk from the town centre.
Hotel guests will also be able to work-out or book a beauty treatment in the leisure club, or wind down in the heated pool and sauna.
